Month: March 2016

We are getting surplus food from M+S

We have started collecting surplus food from Kilburn Marks and Spencers

They are trying to have no surplus so some weeks we may not have any food but if they do have something they will give it to The Kitchen once a week. This was our first week and we got lots of  bread and fruit!

So we had a beautiful bread basket for film night

We made fruit salad as well

For Thursday lunch with DALO we made delicious apple bread and butter  pudding  made with walnut and date bread.

You can see in the photo below the apples whole, then sliced and then in the pudding!

It was to die for and went very quickly!

With the remaining apples we made apple sauce which we will freeze and use in cakes later.
